To keep it short...the spring signing period is coming up soon and we aren't a serious contender to land anybody of note. The staff looks to have all but given up on going after somewhat known talent. It looks like the focus has shift to turning over as many rocks as they can in hopes of finding a few hidden gems. Any BE school that has to recruit like they are in the Sunbelt or the MAAC will find it hard to just compete never mind win games.

Also I don't even know if Robertson is still committed to USF. Right now the best player we have coming in next season is Showtime Haynes. ::)

It's a tough place to recruit. Once the practice facility is built things will improve. Hard place to recruit to.

Need to get out of the big east.  Talented players don't want to come and not have a chance at a championship of some sort.

So, talented players would rather go to the MWC or C-USA over the best college basketball conference in America?

Well, Big East caliber players would rather go to a relevant Big East team.

C-USA / MWC players often would rather be a big fish in a small pond rather than be mediocre in the best basketball conference in America on a mediocre team.

Example: Keith Clanton

Bad example...

I bet Keith is regretting his decision right now.

Their new coach will probably be able to smooth over any problems he has ...

he didn't seem to have a problem recruiting at Arkansas. Seth seems to be doing okay at VT .... I don't think it's heath's ability holding us back, it's the tools he has to work with. The tools are getting honed so let's see how the next couple of years play out.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
