Very nice.  Gonna be an SOB to get a room up there if it's anywhere near NYE.

great job by the BE to get this bowl

complain all you want about the weather in NYC that time of year but that game will have some SERIOUS national exposure and coverage.

Any word as to if this bowl would replace a current one, or be another one added to the 34 already existing.

I sure do hope the name Yankee Bowl doesn't stick.  I'd prefer Big Apple Bowl or a throwback to the original NYC bowl, the Gotham Bowl.

Anyways, check out the field alignment, sideline seats are going to be horrible:

I am still hopeful for a regular season OOC match-up

I would imagine they would add seats to the sidelines.

it makes sense to have this bowl with RU and UCONN being close by.. at least they know that if they end up there, they will sell it out

The story linked to says it would be the 35th bowl game.

With the Steinbrenners calling the shots, maybe it can be named after the Yankees MVP each year. I can't wait to see the Jeter Bowl.

There are a couple regular season games there coming up, so we should get a good idea then how the seating will look. I would bet on them adding seats along the sidelines if at all possible. College football games were being scheduled there almost as soon as the stadium opened, so it seems accommodating a football field is something that would have been figured out during the planning.
