I guess not.  He was at the center of an investigation into it but he is still playing ball.

From what I recall, the story is that he and some friends were horsing around one night on campus. Supposedly, he told a friend to hop on the hood of his car as he did stupid maneuvers. Supposedly, the friend did not want to do it but succumbed to peer pressure. The friend reportedly fell off the car and died. Ewin then reportedly lied to campus police about what really happened.
