Has there ever been a USF squad that has performed this well in the second half of games?

Even under CJL, it always felt like our big wins were avoiding snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. We’ve always had depth issues, which usually haunt us in the latter half. CAG is doing something right here. I’ve never seen USF seem to get better as the game progresses.

We're also playing teams that have same issues we have, and as others have pointed out, same type athletes.  Having depth in the Big East is probably different than depth in AAC-USA.  I don't think we've had a "big win" yet, but we are winning the ones we should or mostly should.  Still recovering from seasons of neglect.

Still, it's the motivation, aggressiveness and effort that make this team special.  No doubt this defense is the best we have seen in a long time and USF's defense was last in FBS last year?  What a turnaround.  The offense is a little behind as expected but we see what any fan wants to see - improvement from week to week.

I think it has a lot to do with the go go go offense wearing the teams down in the second half . We seem to capitalize on their fatigue. We have yet to keep fighting and outlook the other teams. I hope we can keep this all in mentality going .

The defense is a such an upgrade and that is on the coaching staff. They are coaching these boys up and putting them in positions to succeed with schemes and play calls to match their talents.

Yeah you can tell Navy was getting gassed on our last TD drive.

And was a big part why we ran over them on that last drive taking our time.

Good point, they were showing late in the second quarter that we were leading time of possession however they need to start focusing on number of plays because we started to double them up.  These teams are not world beaters by any stretch but what Orlando and Go did with the D is nothing short of miraculous.  The year over year improvements are absolutely startling.

So you're saying one coach has developed depth versus similar competition and one didn't?  heh, heh, heh.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
