Bad news it will be a tough sell to get a lot of quality players. This coaching  staff has their work cut out and will have to earn their keep.

I think targeting the top 5 FCS players and good players that sit the bench b/c they have 5 star players starting in front of them. Target the players that just miss being close to home.

I am not against thay strategy ,but we can't afford  to the majority of transfer classes not produce.   We need to find guys who fit the schemes and can succeed  in them.

Agree just like Freshmen recruiting not all will pan out, but if we can get enough of them to produce that will be a start. I mean with the Portal as it stands now there is a high chance that you will lose some productive ones every year.

So keeping those that produce will be just as important as picking good HS recruits and Transfers

I mean you look at the Portal now and pretty much every school is losing 20+

It's early but CAG has a top 40/30 class on a few sites so hopefully he keeps the momentum going into the fall...have a good showing during season and we could have best class since Taggarts big class ages ago.

I'm leary of building a team heavy on the portal but for this season in particular we need to purge players to get roster where it needs to be. 14 safeties is ridiculous.

They're called starters .......... and they're "favorites" for a reason. Coach thinks they give him the best chance to continue his coaching career.

Correct, but coaches make their favorites starters.  That's the point.  They get latched on to certain guys who they think are their best players and they generally ride those guys.  They may be wrong, but they love their favorites.

IF a coach rides a guy that’s not producing then I don’t want that coach. Pretty simple.

Isn't that the job of a coach?? A coach is going to play who he thinks gives them the best chance of winning, based on a ton more information than anyone out here has .......

How do we still have CCS players?

Maybe if we hit the portal hard enough we can snag a few of those CJL players?

The Corona Novel Virus  aka Covid gives all players indefinite eligibility.  Every yearly booster you get any extra year of eligibility.  Trust the science.
