I actually don’t blame him, he has a couple little ones, he has a comfortable well paying job while he gets payed a mint for failing here. He is on cruise control, not a bad way to live, he probably doesn’t want nor deserves another shot and he is probably ok with that.  Let this guy fade away like a fart in the wind, tired of looking back at the failures of our previous coaches.

Agree with this. Maybe he just went through a few hectic years and wants to take on less responsibility, spend time with his family, and reassess. Nothing wrong with that.

It says a lot when clemson is looking for a new OC and they bring Scott on as an analyst.

dabo's clemson way of paying kids under the table not working out so hot now with NIL.

Wish him the best.  Pretty sure his team's W/L record will be better this year than his last year.  Hopefully our new guy wears it better when he switches outfits from orange to green.

CJS is the college coaching equivalent of The Truman Show.  He needs to get out of the Clemson bubble and learn new ways.

I would guess it may also have to do with the terms of his buy-out from USF. He may have offset language where if he takes an "on-field" coaching position then that salary would reduce his Buy-out payments from USF. That is complete speculation by me. I am not privy to the terms of his buy-out, but that offset language is common.
