I like the aggressive style defense since we are a Florida school that has tons of access to Florida speed..

This would be his 7th job in 12 years. Not the best of signs by any means.

If this is truly the D Coordinator then we might have a really big problem. 😰

You have to put it into context. Utah State to Houston was a big step up. Houston to Texas was him following Herman. USC....I'm not sure why, maybe money, but then they had a coaching change as well in 2021, which led him to FAU in 2022. It isn't like this guy is getting fired from his gigs.

EDIT: Apparently Herman fired him from Texas.

FAU offense last year scored about the same as our offense did 29 pts per game.

Their defense allowed 26.7 vs our 41.7 that’s a 15 point difference. Had we allowed those points a game we would had been 8-4 and Scott would still be here and everyone would be shouting we are back.

We are a team that has won, one FBS game in three years, has limited resources and some of you guys are acting like we are the golden goose.

I swear some of you guys are delusional.

If we get this guy and he helps our defense keep opponents to 30 ppg, I would be thrilled.

I'm not recoiling from the pick, but this is not the best DC in the nation. Would love to know what happened between him and Herman. He was with Herman from 2015 to 2019 and then Herman doesn't retain him when he takes over at FAU? Kind of odd not to have that continuity. Hopefully, this means that Kevin Patrick is coming back as our DL coach.

Did you honestly think USF under our current conditions was really going to get the best DC in the nation?

Thats coaching speak that I’m getting a good one.

My eye twitched after hearing we are hiring someone named "Orlando". First CAG spent one season there, now we are hiring someone with that name.... *pukes*

I'm not upset with it. I will take a wait and see approach. I get coach speak, but at the same time, you don't need to go that far with the hyperbole. "One of the best" "An excellent" "Incredible" all would be more appropriate.

Not the best DC, but I'd expect with a pitch like that, it'd be a DC that's above our weight class. A Brian Jean-Mary or Tom Allen type. Todd Orlando's numbers are around where Chris Cosh's were when we hired him:

Chris Cosh: 27.9 pts, 394.6 yds

Todd Orlando: 26.6 pts, 424.8 yds
