But why? He took a well setup team from oleary. He would fail miserably here and no one wants some UCF retread here.  That and his name is Scott. Yall are delusional.

I get your points about the UCF retread, but that well-set up team he took from O’Leary was winless. You do recall that, right?

I get that, but the guy went unbeaten as a head coach in the AAC, in Florida already. He’s also a lot younger than Charlie with a long career still in front of him. He’s not a bad choice at this point for us. Or do we go with some unknown name like the guy at Coastal, etc. and roll the dice? Is that really more likely to be successful? Nebraska ain’t what it was when Tommie Frazier was there running the wishbone and it may never be again, regardless of who’s the coach.

Sorry, Dave, have to agree to disagree with this. As a legacy at NU I'm sure got the fullest support and he was a hot mess there. His 2 years at UCF with a premier college qb is not enough of a resume ....

Would Hugh Freeze at Liberty be an option or would this be too lateral of a move for him.

GOL had the foundation in place going 21-5, with a BCS bowl win in there, the 2 years preceding the 0fer ...

Fair enough. He was the hottest coaching prospect in the country when he took the NU job and was a major failure. Can’t argue that.

So thoughts on Dan Mullen? Can’t argue that he isn’t a proven winner as a D1 head coach. Still a pretty young guy at 50.

Doubt he would take a non P5 job and especially one that hasn't had much success.

An offer is the only way to find out. But, I think it should be someone that wasn’t fired for failing, at any level.
