We at least fired him at the exact right time, any earlier would have been premature and any later was too late.  I think we actually have a remote shot at Deion, he is not ready for a job like Auburn.  He could come here, recruit like crazy and we could out athlete some teams as he pads his resume like his first stop.  He is probably dying to get out of Jackson and would love to get back in a familiar territory and recruit his old stomping grounds.  I give it a 25% chance.

I’m with you. I think it’s a long shot, but not impossible by any stretch. It makes a lot of sense for us and for him.

I get that, but the guy went unbeaten as a head coach in the AAC, in Florida already. He’s also a lot younger than Charlie with a long career still in front of him. He’s not a bad choice at this point for us. Or do we go with some unknown name like the guy at Coastal, etc. and roll the dice? Is that really more likely to be successful? Nebraska ain’t what it was when Tommie Frazier was there running the wishbone and it may never be again, regardless of who’s the coach.

Deion would be fantastic, but I see him getting better offers from a p5

Not the top choice, but in the conversation.

But why? He took a well setup team from oleary. He would fail miserably here and no one wants some UCF retread here.  That and his name is Scott. Yall are delusional.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
