But we have GB and all of the other QBs next year.

When/if we change coaches, those guys will be an asset for whoever takes over .... we don't need someone with Kanigit stank on him.

We need someone that resonates with the fans that are left.  Someone that brings excitement and interest.  The program is on its deathbed.  We need emergency treatment.   There is only one path remaining.

I think he resonates more with the fans that left ...... but I'm at the point that wtf, he couldn't do any worse and it would put this campaign to bed one way or another.

Instead of names what are the right attributes for the next head coach?

For me the HC has to be a former player, not just "daddy's walk-on", one who played the game and was a winner.   During recruiting a HC who is a fmr player will recognize a player and properly set expectations.  Think Leavitt, Taggart, Frost and Heupel.

Has demonstrated success as a HC at some collegiate level.  I don't care if it's FCS, Division II, FBS

Brings an area of expertise either offense or defense.  For USF to be successful they have to be really good at one side of the ball; offense or defense.  Leavitt was defense Taggart was offense Strong was defense.

Knows the Bay and can recruit the Bay.

I disagree.  The true bullievers are still here, born and bred into that brand of Bulls football.  Many of the disruptors scurried off like rats during and after the Holtz New Error.  It's true diehards now with a handful of fans that still think what Leavitt delivered wasn't enough, but that's a small contingent.  Their thoughts have proven invalidated.  Those that left with him will come back with him, so it's immaterial.  Hire another experiment and it's all over.  Over.

I like that list.  Not the side commentary so much, but the essence of the requirements is pretty solid.

But we must keep in mind you can get all that and then still have conflict with admin, boosters, media, conference change, etc.  So it's not a complete package, but it's a good start of finding Mr. Perfect.

I agree 💯 If we bring in another coach nobody knows or someone like CJS with no experience it’s over. Bringing back CJL would definitely bring some life back into the program. Loved riding my bike past the football trailer back in the day when I was a student. Talked to CJL on several of those rides and always knew he loved USF. That’s what we need again.

I’d like to see Tyson Helton get a shot.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
