March can throw 50 yard bombs with the flick of the wrist. Besides Blake Barnett and Mike White, I think he may have the strongest arm of any QB we have ever had. If his passing replaces the QB run with more big throws, I can live with him staying in the pocket. If he needs to run, just let it be in a str8 line and only if needed.

The more I think about it the more I get your point. Barnett & White were good passers but needed time in the pocket. USF didn’t have much pass blocking for those QBs.  Now This season we have good pass blocking. Was that because teams were respecting the legs of GBJ or did we develop a good OL? Hopefully the OL gives Marsh time to throw and we should see some offense. The defense I don’t think they will come alive yet this season although I like seeing the INTs made and sacks. Just need to put the 3rd down defense together

I think the problem is that we are shell shocked from these pocket passer attempts.  But this O line is good.  🤔

They are barely giving up 1 sack per game. We shut out Cincy's "ferocious" defense. Let that man throw the ball.

Strong arms leads to quick TDs just like a dunk is the MOST EFFICIENT shot in basketball.

If you say so. We had a lot of quick TDs with Quinton Flowers throwing slants and screens on time that went the distance - and while a dunk is efficient, if that’s the extent of your offensive game, you’ll never score more than 4-6 points per game. We obviously have differing philosophies, but it’s hard to argue with USF’s history. We’ve never won with any consistency with a strong-armed, immobile QB, but we’ve won a lot with guys who could do things with their legs AND arms. That’s not really arguable.

Ok, you can have Ronnie Banks, Bobby Eveld, Mike White, Blake Barnett and Katravis Marsh. I’ll take Marquel Blackwell, Matt Grothe, B.J. Daniels, Quinton Flowers and Gerry Bohannon. I’m not sure why we’re even discussing this.

One of those names is not worthy of those list based on stats and accomplishments.

I dont think i am. The other three quarterbacks won games with their legs and arm. Barnett out produced gerry b with his legs and Arm. His first year here he got like 8 tds on the ground and 12 tds passing. It would make more sense to put Barnett on that side. He won usf some games and had wheels and an arm. Even he doesn't need to be in the same group as the other 3.

Marsh played a hell of a lot better in his first game than GB did.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.
