Correct, but the hit to the programs overall budget may not be as big as people think when they get to cut out the lease payment and actually keep parking/concessions.

Are you forgetting about all of the other expenses that will be added to the overall budget?  Manitenance and operation of the facility, will likely be outsourced to Vinik Sports Group (like the Yuengling Center), which gets 35% of the naming rights in exchange.

Plus loan payments would be a big hit to the budget.

Just some math   20,000 tix at an ave of $35 is $4,200,000 for 6 games  That is probably conservative

Parking-5,000 cars at $20 is $600,000 for 6 games and thats probably conservative so lets round up to $5,000,000

Not having a financial calculator available but roughly for bonding $200,000,000 the annual  payment is around $7,000,000

I'm sure between concessions, advertising, naming rights and other events we can come up with the extra $2,000,000

If we can get an MLS team (screw Sternberg) and/or the USFL team (if the league makes it)  then we will be printing money

Sorry ... but ticket revenue is 100% used for operation of the athletics program, not for paying debt on the stadium ... and the sales tax on the tickets is specifically used for women's athletics.  Also, I would expect that parking would be free across campus, with maybe a few hundred spaces closest to the stadium for donors and season ticket holders, which would cover the costs of parking attendance and parking security.

If we can land MLS team in the region, it will be the Rowdies and they will likely still play in St Pete...  the USFL's Bandits? That might be an option since it doesn't really overlap with USF's needs... assuming it still exists in the spring of 2027.

There are good reasons for building the OCS and why I am financially supporting it as much as I can ... but money is absolutely, positively not the reason.

I'll eat my green & gold hat if they get an acceptable stadium done for less than $300M.

"Acceptable" to whom?  It's an easy bet if you get to decide whether or not to eat your hat.

Acceptable is something on the level we are used to at Ray Jay.

Seatbacks, armrests, stadium that does feel like it is collapsing like Mickey Mouse's stadium.

Parking/taigating ease like Ray Jay.
