I don't know. If a Duke, Stanford, Cal. Pitt, and Georgia Tech get the choice between being in a conference with us, Tulane, Syracuse, Wake Forrest, and Boston College or the Big 12, they will fall over themselves to get in the Big 12.

Again assuming the ACC loses more than 4 teams. If its just 4 the ACC will be fine. If its more the Big 12 will be in a good position.

disagree. I think academics still matter to the presidents of those schools.

I think there are only 2 big 12 schools ranked in the top 100. That's tcu at 98 and baylor at 93.

Duke, Stanford etc would not want to be associated with wvu, TTech, Kansas state, etc.

I think they add one less than what leaves to get to 16. So if 4 leave, I think 3 get added (USF, UConn, Tulane)

Makes sense.

Yeah idk about that. All of this realignment is strictly for money.

Unless I missed Bama leaving for the Ivy League.

The remaining ACC schools don’t add much value to the big 12. Not enough to justify expansion.

That’s why the new contract pays the Big12 and ACC the same. When FSU and Clemson and maybe UNC and Virginia are gone, the ACC will be paid less. None of the remaining members will be strong big12 additions.

I think the ACC left overs have no option but to stick together and consider adding Uconn and USF.

It will be an interesting time if the ACC GOR and Pac12 contract ends at the same time.

New CFP deal was signed this afternoon and the ACC will be getting $1 million more per school than the Big XII.

If the B12 poaches the ACC it will start the countdown on their own demise. The B1G and SEC’s end game isn’t a triumvirate with them and the B12. Without any other middle conferences to be grouped with it’s just a matter of time until the B12 joins the have nots.

Will that help the Noles and Tigers to pay to leave, or at least a couple of hours of their attorneys' fees?

In a lawsuit filed Tuesday in South Carolina, Clemson calls the ACC withdrawal penalty "unconscionable" and "unenforceable."

Killing the ACC would be enough incentive just by itself. Remember a year ago they felt that a Cincy, Houston, and UCF brought value to the league.  A Louisville, Georgia Tech, Pitt, NC State could make sense to them.

lol like bama cares about academics....

the big 12 actually pays out less than the acc.

sure the payout might drop some for the acc but not enough for some of the best academic schools in the country to join the likes of wvu and texas tech

now maybe if the sec or big 10 came calling you'd have a point.

no academic powerhouse is going to make a lateral move to join a conference full of 100+ rated schools

we would be the highest rated academic school in the big 12....
