No one is directly saying it, but Pac-12 and ACC could be unifying Reporting from John Canzano on Tuesday pointed to Pac-12 talks with another conference. While no specific answer emerged, the Big 12 didn’t seem to be the target. Elaborate on your point please.

They could throw a few more bucks at ACC and screw the Big12 after the nasty affair they had with them.

Big Ten is done for now... maybe they get ND and one more. Maybe not. SEC is done for now... not interested in taking on the GoR battle. Big Ten and SEC agree to their own Playoff. ACC and Pac 12 form a semi-formal "alliance" as described, with their own playoff. That leaves us back where we started a week ago. Big 12 is left holding the bag... they have 12 teams and no real options to add teams from the other 4 "Power 5" conferences... but they will need more inventory for their TV contract -- so they need to add teams... and the list would be fairly short - some AAC teams and some MWC teams. Nothing is guaranteed ... but the there would be some incentive for the Big 12 to expand to have more inventory.
