We are about as close to AAU status right now as we are to building an OCS. It's been in USF's official strategic plan since at least 2007 and in that time we haven't even been nominated for a vote on consideration.

So we are pretty close since there is actually a plan :stirpot:

Yep. AAU any day now, Big 10 shortly thereafter. Edited by JTrue

It all depends on the length of your timeline.

"It's not the length of your timeline, it's how you use it!" - said the man with a small timeline...

How does the AAU process work and how often do they meet and vote on such matters? Are we realistically making any strides on that goal of getting into the AAU? Any measurables?

I think it's a mix of measurable and member invatation.

AAU status isn't going to be a factor if a conference determines that a school is going to help them make more $$$.

Maybe it won't exclude, but it sure could help.

Two of the big measurables, 6-year graduation rate and student/teacher ratio, we have our work cut out for us. As Jtrue mentioned, AAU is a goal, but it's one that's way off on the horizon. It wouldn't surprise me to see us get an OCS before we even sniff the formal AAU application process. I hope I'm wrong about that.
