I remember hearing about what great pickup joints those were, Crawdaddy's, Rusty Pelican, Whiskey Joe's.

But, I never had to drive that far to pick up.  Never been.

I can't remember what night of the week it was...but I had a few friends that used to go over there once a week, and I'd go along when I had the money.  So we were about 20-21 years old, and most of the ladies in these 3 particular places on were like in their late 20s and early 30s (not college bars).  So we used to call it "cadaver night."  That makes me feel really old right about now.

Oh.  If we are doing food places, too:  Does anyone remember a little dumpy Greek place on Busch Blvd. called (I think it was) "Taste of Gyro"?  They had the best **** Gyros, and they were open until like 4am.  I can remember several times making that drive when I really really shouldn't have.  This would have been circa 1988.

Never had that Gladstone's chicken for some reason. It looked good but I guess it was not my wheel house. But thinking about Friday night food....

Just had a thought-- I assume that Gumby's Pizza has to be long gone on USF campus.

Not that it was all that good but it was cheap and fast back in the day. But you know--- your up late hanging out, getting the munchies and watching a movie and it would hit the spot.

A Gumby's Greaser.....lol.

Gladstone's was the shiznit of chicken. I used to pick up cold drums from them for $.25 when I worked downtown. For like $3 I would have a feast for lunch the next day.

I guess no one remembers The Infirmary, a wooden shack on Fowler, a few blocks east of the university.  A dirty place with  holes in the walls.  This was back in the 70's.  Once was enough.
