I think bcgruber is correct. Couldn't have been more than 5000 fans at last Saturdays game. Also where are all the students. The North end zone look pathetic. Way to support your team. The whole program has been sad for many years including the band. Stop doing themes and play some decent music.  I've been a season ticket holder for 24 years.

Why should the students show up? College football is like any other decision in life or purchase. When the product doesn’t fulfill the need, do you keep purchasing it? These are young people who haven’t seen success on the field. Maybe USF needs to give the students more the what they have. Bring excitement back to the games. It’s the little things that sometimes equate to incremental gains.

How many people and what is the percentage on TBS that are from the CCS and CJS time span? How many season ticket holders are from the CCS time? Maybe it’s time for the marketing department to start asking questions to figure out how to get people back in the stands? They need to take a consumer approach and use data to help themselves out. It’s time to invest in getting fans in the stands. No more of this support your team bull. (Maybe they should also stop waiting till the last minute to offer tickets to employees for a deeper discount. Invest if you want people in the stands.)

It's pretty simple people have better things to do here especially at noon on a Saturday than watch the team lose.

Start winning and people will come back.

Our bad attendance is justified by the production the football team has produced on the field. Last FBS win was about 2 years ago...that's Uconn type bad.

Winning to what level? 2 games a year or having a winning record? That could take too long. The opportunity was yesterday to fix and develop the fan base. USF needs to be proactive instead of reactive. The time is now.

They key is to ask your consumer base the questions to figure out a strategy to change the course we are on for long term success. We are no longer in a situation where we can assume.

Winning record would be a good place to be.

It will take along time to fix I'm afraid. People just arent going to go watch bad losing football short of you paying them to go to the games.

I'm sure you understand that it is too late to be proactive since there are no fans.

Yes I stated “the opportunity was yesterday”. But the opportunity still lies today in building a fan base for the future. Put the research in now for tomorrow. Do it right today for tomorrow.

How are things in the portal?

I've managed to score some free Memphis vs Miss State tickets while I was drifting in the portal this season. It was a very entertaining game to attend. Memphis fans agonizing over being relegated like USF.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
