Only when that picture includes P5 teams and maybe top few of teams in our conference.   I'm not saying we are loaded, but we have enough talent to win 3-4 games in this conference this year ... but we won't

I agree except there is zero chance with this coaching

I guess that is where we disagree. I expect to compete at a national level not at a confernece level.

Maybe that is wishful thinking, but I don't think its unreasonable.

That is fine, but we weren't doing that his year and we have never had the talent to compete week in and week out on a "national level" so yes that is wishful thinking and unreasonable at this point

What do you mean by National level? National championships? Compete against other conferences?

That's my point.  The coaching just isn't what it should be.

My opinion and probably not popular but I feel this program is on the upswing but the on field performance is not. Things need to be in sync so CJS needs to get it together and show he's up to the task or he has to go . Now is the time and we can't hold the program back to let him catch up

I mean--- if we had talent, you would think we could put up a decent rush on a QB at least a few times a game. Today we had some positive plays like turnovers and special teams scores.

Not for nothing--  I'm on the team that believes "the Coaching staff SUCKS". It is easy to see this if you have any football knowledge at all.  Why anyone would defend CJS is beyond me--- what has he EVER done to deserve anything close to praise for the job he has so incapably done?

CJS is effing clueless. WE could have won this game but it reminded me so much of the Charlie days and his ability to eff the game up that was in hand with weak decisions.

There are tons of examples as others have pointed out--- and the worse part is we have no recourse. WE're stilll probably paying CCS his ransom.

To be honest-- I am SICK of how this program is being run from top to bottom. ****** decision after ****** decision - a total lack of respect for the people who support the team-- and FAILURE with no one held responsible. How about trying to actually find someone to coach us who is CAPABLE? Someone who can recruit Florida. Someone who understands how to coach WINNING CULTURE-- not just talks about it ad nauseum. Clean this mess up and start flying in the right direction or just call it what it was--- an impossible to correct situation and END FOOTBALL AT USF. That's right-- just close down the program, focus on the other sports and stop driving your fans crazy. Or better yet--- drop to the FCS level where half-assed efforts are acceptable.

Admin is the reason. How many times do we need to find examples of why we can't move forward.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
