He makes valid points. Seems stupid that some of the coaches we employ want to clean cut from the past and don’t recognize at least the players that paved the way. I hope Auggie keeps coaching elsewhere until he gets his chance to come back. Doors in the coaching world seem to revolve fast nowadays

How many alums are currently coaching somewhere?

We need to get true Bulls back into the helms of this program.

I only know of Larry Scott (who has unfortunately gotten off to a terrible start at Howard) and Calvin Magee.

Most former players aren’t coaching… probably because they wouldn’t be good coaches.

Very few former USF assistants across all head coaching regimes are doing much.

Haven’t we won 1 out of our last 15 games? How much worse could bad coaches do than our good coaches?

Augie is a great bull and I'm glad he still has the passion to speak his mind. He is bitter but I unstand it. It's frustrating to get fired just because of regime change. I respect a head Coach's decision to enact policy about who is on the gameday sidelines. That doesn't mean I have to like the policy because i don't. I suspect only allowing active NFL guys is a way to keep the old guard at a distance when things aren't going well. If we won 8 games last year I suspect CJS might not be as strict on that but he has a job to do and times are stressful.

Thanks for posting Augie’s comments. He was on target, well spoken and passionate.  Always been proud of him, as he is also a Northeast High graduate (Go Vikes).

I hope that he is welcomed back into the program, as he can be part of the solution.  Go Bulls

If he was complaining while we were churning out wins that definitely comes across as bitter but that’s not exactly what we are looking at here. Let’s say your ex wife marries a super nice guy that is great to your kids and is able to supply them with anything they would like but then you complain about it as if it’s an issue for the children, that’s probably pretty bitter. However if your ex wife is now with some methed out guy that doesn’t have a job, is living in a beat down trailer and keeps stealing the kids cellphones to pay for his habits you may actually be concerned about something you care about being destroyed more so than upset that she moved on.

He has some valid points and the way he was let go was pretty weak in my opinion. However, I would be more interested to know if he has communicated this to MK. I mean at the end of the day it does no good telling us and social media…unless USF Athletics reads social media and I question if they do consistently.

And another one pissed about attending games:

Nigel Harris also agreed with Auggie on this Facebook post.

Auggie says he's willing to work with them, I would love to know if Scott sees this stuff and changes his tune.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
