he needs 2 more years at least

You realize that is enough time to have every single person on scholarship be recruited by him right? If you need every person to be yours to implement your plan the problem is with your plan any real plan towards improvement shows incremental progress, it is a path to success and not an arch that requires all pieces and the keystone dropped into place before you actually have accomplished anything.

Hate to compare us to other coaching situations because they’re  all different but look at FSU.  This is year 2 of Norvelll(year 1 COVID) and they played ND tough right to the end and could have easily won.  He came in after the Taggart disaster.  CJS in year 2 and We got shutout 45-0 by an above average ACC team with zero signs of progress.  Right now, he looks lost.

I remember when many of the same people were on this board asking to fire Taggart and the same people were saying he should stay two years later.

Scott might work out and he might not, but still too early to tell.

I am looking at our win/loss history with our last 4 coaches.  I see a pattern is developing:

Holtz started winning then descended.

2010    8-5

2011    5-7

2012    3-9

Taggart started losing then ascended.

2013    2-10

2014    4-8

2015    8-5

2016    11-2

Strong started winning then descended.

2017    10-2

2018    7-6

2019    4-8

Scott like Taggart started by losing in a shorten 9 game season, perhaps if we had played another three games, we could have matched Taggart’s 2-10 first season.  Forget that last week we were crushed by a team that has been picked by the ACC to compete for the ACC title.  Perhaps this team will be like the Taggart teams of 2013-2016 with Timmy McClain as our future Flowers. Just an observation.

If we don’t win more than 2 games this season firing him should be an option, if we win 1 game or less he needs to go. If we extend this scoreless streak for a couple more weeks there will be no way the temp on the jacuzzi doesn’t move up to roiling boil

Taggart came in with a horrible plan that if he had stuck with would most certainly would have led to a terming. Lucky for everyone Taggert pivoted away from his Harbaugh roots but he also was doing much better with recruiting. There is no reason to believe Scott will somehow miracle his way to pivoting to a winning strategy but no matter what it wasn’t a necessary component to CWT’s final success and everyone would have been better served by not going down a two and a half year path destined for failure.

USF will never bring in the top talent FSU gets.  We could have played Nc State closer if our qb didnt freak out and we had to turn to a true freshman.

The receivers were open if we hit just half of them it's a close game at halftime.

If we turn to a true freshman I'm afraid he is going to have a ton of growing pains as a qb ugh

No one forced him to have those options or to decide after watching for two years to go with that as his best option

Out of curiosity,

if CJS does turn us into a winning program, will you admit you were wrong?
