Forgot to mention that the nets were partially ripped off and the ball got stuck in the half hanging net. Instead of looking for a stick I actually elevated 4" and knocked the ball loose.

No three-point line when I played.  And no dunking.  We had to climb a ladder to get the ball out of the peach baskets nailed to the wall.

Actually cut out bottoms of baskets and nailed them to telephone poles.  Don't think they put up a basket in the playground near us until I was around 8. Only place before that was a community center that we didn't have access to often.

I'm old too man. My knees make an audible sound when I walk downstairs. 

I tried to hop a hip-height fence recently and I felt like the tinman from wizard of oz.

Well yeah...an 83" height hoop would be a lot easier to bring a dunk home...Ha! "dunking the ball", in high school yep and after in the city leagues. Coach in high school benched me in a game because I dunked the ball..He said, "we don't play that kind of basketball on this team" Well they certainly play like that now...
