so do you think if any athlete does make it big in the endorsement game they will give to the worthwhile charity that is their scholarship in order to help offset their taxes?

Don't know, don't care because I don't think this is going to have much of a positive impact on USF players and/or the program at this point in time and in fact may be more of a negative impact. Hope I'm wrong and am vastly underestimating Yoke ..... whatever the **** Yoke is.

Now THOSE players should be booable if one is so inclined ...... and stupid indeed. I think things just got a lot more tougher for us than I first realized.

They have always been paid, just now above the table instead of below it.  This is the beginning of the end for this sport, it was fun while it lasted.

"They are telling this of Lord Beaverbrook and a visiting Yankee
actress. In a game of hypothetical questions, Beaverbrook asked the
lady: 'Would you live with a stranger if he paid you one million
pounds?' She said she would. 'And if be paid you five pounds?' The
irate lady fumed: 'Five pounds. What do you think I am?' Beaverbrook
replied: 'We've already established that. Now we are trying to
determine the degree."

Relevant analogy highlighting the hypocrisy of Trips post.  They are all prostitutes now and shall be treated as such, none of this selective treatment based on income.

Correct…they are all pros now…looking for $. I bet more than half of USF football players will be generating income this year. Some will even do quiet well. They are no longer fragile children who cannot be called out any longer.

As it moves down the track of a quasi-professional sport, my desire to "donate" to such a venture may wane.

Which is an issue I saw in an article I read last week. It will be incumbent upon the athletic departments to stress that money received from donors is for items associated with infrastructure and maintaining daily operations. They will have to exclude students from those request. However, it may not matter as many will simply lump all of this as one.

Seems kind of like a chicken and the egg type situation to me, if you win the argument based on your belief that this was never true is winning that argument now what makes it not true? If I were VPMK I would probably revisit that whole we can give you nothing in return but you should give more because this is a charity pitch but that's just me.
