The examples are never ending. The only reason to think we were more impacted is to only look at us in a vacuum and ignore every other program and their situations. As you said the examples are endless and as your cited examples show, they are on very wide spectrum Edited March 5, 2021 by BrassBulls12

But after you figure that out, you can start looking at who would comparable. But you also have to look at teams who had lost 14 of their last 16 games against current FBS opponents before the new coach took over. For CJS the starting point was 2020. If we perform better than we did in 2020 (which we will), then that's improvement. By definition .

We disagree on the premise for me you are measured initially by who you replaced as if he had 6 wins last season we would have all praises his improvement and not dismissed it as simply the starting point that CCS created for him. Not even Nick Saban could've gotten 6 wins with our team last year. The fact that you completely disregard context is astonishing.

Optimistic- 4-8, a roster with good young talent that just can't finish but most return including a solid QB and a good signature win to show what's there. non optimistic 4-8 with serious QB concerns and losing 4 straight and the biggest win is a 7-6 BYU. Do you honestly believe that it was not possible for anyone to have won 3 games last season?
