This may sound a little callous, too, but he was a already a transfer. When you’re going on your third team in three years, its time to start looking for the common denominator.

Thought it weird he wasn't getting much playing time, since we need sharp shooters. Anyone have the scoop on what could have promoted Luke Buckets to transfer?

I was looking forward to seeing him play more. The glimpse we got looked like he had some good skills. Transfer for a 2nd time??

Best I could muster, based on my speculative observation, was that his defense was lacking. If he could meaningfully contribute, he could have bulked up. MBB's strength coach has a good pedigree.

Yeah he is a liability on defense and lacks lateral quickness. His game is likely better suited for low level D-I or D2.

We'll, he didn't make it at low D-1 so maybe D2

In the big picture, we sometimes think too much about what “we” want from a player. As someone who played college sports, it’s not a bad thing to end up at a school where you get to play your sport for 4 more years after high school (when 99% of high school players don’t continue on) and you get a free education from it. I know this thread is about Luke and I bashed him a little, but in the end, if he gets to play anywhere, D2 included, gets to play a sport I assume he enjoys, and knocks out a free college diploma, kudos. There are worse outcomes in life for a 22 year old to enter the world with.

I was simply trying to be funny by pointing out that USF is low D-1 in MBB.  I don't even remember seeing the guy play so don't have an opinion.

I guess I was being a little bit callous.  Good luck to him, hopefully he finds a team that he can be productive, even if that means going the D2 route.  A scholarship is a scholarship.
