Maybe it's more of we have nobody after him but McCloud if he got injured and some freshman.

What do we have to lose at this stage, if he gets hurt we play someone else, the season is already shot.

The one where he got sacked on 2nd down trying to throw the ball ....... and was that definitely a designed qb draw? If so, the wr to the left apparently missed the call because he didn't touch the corner who was blitzing in on the snap and effectively sealed off any chance of NO breaking to the outside. Sometimes the play calling doesn't look so hot when the execution's not there ...

it was definitely a designed draw. and the pass on 2nd and 11 was a screen that was not there because of the rushing defenders. oh and the 3rd and 19 give up run play that they got lucky on to even get us into reasonable field goal range. they stuff that run and we have to punt or try a 52 yard field goal and risk giving them the ball near midfield. plus they should have gone for it on 4th down. a first down forces them to burn timeouts. a TD and it's a 3 score game that is over. A FG kept it to a 2 score game.

I think he is simply a North/South runner. Whats funny, it seems as if he purposely didnt run in the last game. Either he was injured or the coaches to him not too. He passed up on too many opportunities.

He had one play in the 4th where he had a wide open field but threw the ball. I would rather Scott tell him to take off first and throw second if there is any doubt.

Then the wr blew his assignment by not engaging the corner, who cut off any chance NJ had of breaking to the outside. You can even see the coaches talking to the wr after the play.

No it wasn't. NJ's first look after the fake handoff was a quick slant to the right that he didn't pull the trigger on and that's basically all he had time for.

"Give up play" .... lol. They'd ripped off a couple nice runs to the outside on that drive so they ran a designed quick pitch play to the outside and executed it perfectly. So when plays are executed the way they're designed, it's luck and when they're not executed the way they're supposed to, it's a bad call. 20/20 hindsight is a beautiful thing ....

You'd think that Johnson should be experienced enough to tell when to run and when not to ............ but after checking his stats, didn't realize that he's really only had one full season quarterbacking before here.

So no one has really answered my question about NJ.  I know he's a senior, but he is eligible to come back next year due to COVID, correct?

My understanding is that this is a free year for everyone.  If so, and NJ performs well the last 3 games, it would bode well for next year, having an experienced QB.

It's like he was instructed not to run in this game or he was injured. He didn't look as fast as the first few games.
