In a quality control analyst position...what do you base that on?

I realize that if anything is even questioned about CJL you have a conniption fit but I am not sure what your asking. All I am saying is that you can’t change a defense in mid stream. Defensive planning takes place in the off season. He WILL make a difference next year as I am sure he will make the necessary changes.

Next year he will be the defensive coordinator

Agreed assuming CWT keeps his job. Leavitt is an outstanding D coordinator.

Hiring Leavitt will buy him another year presuming the offense continues to score.

CWT is done with Barnett (Their DC) he was visibly and vocally exasperated with the defense in his presser this week and shortly after the CJL news comes out. Also they want to play more 3-4 becauae of their personnel fit but Barnett doesn't have a ton of experience running a 3-4 and CJL has ran a 3-4 often post USF. If their defense continues to collapse in games CJL will be their DC sooner than later. The writing is on the wall for Barnett

But that's not what you said.

I'm just curious why Willie would bring in anybody if it weren't going to help this season.  You don't believe it will help, or go well, or make a difference?  Than why would he do it?  Just for appearances?

That’s what Willie wants to be sure, but I am not aware of anytime in the history of CFB where a mid season hire made a difference. Will they be “a little” better? Maybe, but it won’t be drastically better and might not even be noticeable. Give Leavitt a full year and yes he will turn around (as I said Leavitt knows defense). Hopefully Willie will still be around for that happen.

Well, honestly, I hope you're right - that he won't make a difference.  I hope they get no better.  I hope they plummet further, but I doubt it.

That’s only because CJL has never been a mid season hire.

Well now that is a indeed a factual statement. But if you’ve seen fsu defense they actually need preseason reps and new schemes. I don’t think it’s doable. A bye week would help, but you can’t put in what god has taken out...Willie should have made Leavitt a deal he could not turn down last spring

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
