I would, we're not exactly flush with cash as an athletics department and going indy would only exacerbate the $$ problems. It would kill the program

Also name a successful program that's indy that isn't the flagship university of a major religion or a service academy. I'll wait

Just because no one is bold enough to try it in today’s climate doesn’t make it impossible, I would argue it is now easier to make the jump then it was when half of the college world was independent in the early nineties. If not for cable tv conferences wouldn’t have become as pervasive and cable tv is going the way of the dodo bird.

We just need to resort to guerrilla warfare, lining up in open fields wearing giant red targets and hoping you shoot first or the other guy misses is dumb. We need to be swift and cunning and not part of a lumbering unit of idiots relying on old ideas.

So are you ready to shed the patriarchal tyranny that is the AAC? The problem is bigger than CCS , the problem is bigger than USF the problem lies in our captors and we must be free of them to flourish once again.

Cable is but the networks own the digital content. The delivery method is changing but that's it. Network deals for conferences aren't going anywhere. Jumping off a bridge and trying to live is pretty bold but you're still dead after your bold but stupid move.

We are already losing money, what do we have to lose? Schedule more 2-1’s with bigger programs, sell more seats for fewer games at home, get more pay days on the road and have better content to sell with bigger names opponents for your home schedule. At worst we would be $15 million in the hole instead of $7.5 million and that’s only if everything completely goes wrong and we don’t make a single penny off of anything, how is losing millions of dollars that much worse and unsustainable than losing millions of dollars. The aac has no upside it’s a guaranteed loser and we need to do something at some point.

Independence is a death sentence no matter what your delusions say. You're also ignoring the trend of P5 schools moving towards playing only P5 confeneces and coaches like Saban are pushing the game that way. I know you care about CJL more than those program buy your literally suggesting we kill thus program. They program IS sustainable in the AAC no matter what your delusions say.

The attendance and budget seem to beg to differ with that opinion.

There's a reason why schools aren't tripping over themselves to be go indy for those buckets of cash. There are no buckets it's a fools errand. Pucs ego and his fee fees telling him he's better than This conference are not a legitment reason to kill this program.  Also, good luck filling out your schedule with payday games considering schools schedules are filled for literally years and the AAC would have no reason to allow us to stay in the conference once we announced the move. Also this is doesn't even take into consideration sports other than football. You're cutting off your nose and to spite your face. The AAC again would have no reason to allow those sports to stay
