USF Softball - NCAA Tournament

Great start to the first game against the Cocks, as the USC pitcher walks 4 of the first 5 batters and USF is up 1-0 with the bases loaded and 1 out in the Top of the 1st. The game can be seen on the SEC Network or streamed through www.watchespn.com

Bulls up 2-1 after 3

Another run walks in for the Bulls, 3-1 lead, Top of the 4th, 2 outs, bases loaded.

Bulls win 3-2. Will in all likelihood face fsu tomorrow

So goes Georgina, so goes the Bulls. We don't have the offensive firepower to outscore the higher-caliber teams like FSU. She kept us in the 1-0 loss at Florida back in April and didn't even have her best stuff, but still only gave up 1 hit and 4 walks. Florida scored its lone run on a sac fly. She will need to pitch lights out tomorrow to give us a chance to steal one from the defending champs who have the 4th best offense in the nation.

There were 2 great catches in the 6th.  One was an over the shoulder by the 1st basemen (the better of the two) and the next batter fouled out to RF where the RFer made a nice running catch.

Regardless of what happens the rest of the way (unlikely to beat FSU), its definitely an accomplishment to beat any SEC softball team in the NCAA's......way to go Ladies!!

The RF'er needs to make that play 99.9% of the time. We were very fortunate the 1B hung on to the ball.
