Is it really necessary to count pitches in softball?

I saw the girl from Texas Tech threw more than 170 today.  I know the arm action isn't as strenuous, is there a typical limit?

P.S. I have watched more softball today than I have cumulatively in my life prior to today.

No it’s not, some times pitchers will throw every pitch of every inning of the season. The last one I can remember was the girl they called Gelly(Angelica) that played for UCLA. I think Cat Osterman did it too for Texas.

There is definitely three tiers of teams in this regional.

That's women's sports as a whole. The top 5-7 teams are light years better than the next group of "good" teams.

That’s true. If we lose this regional (which is a good probability if we are honest) it’s nothing to hang out head about.

I would really like to see FSU and OK in the final. That could be a fireworks type of series.
