Can’t believe Mohl made no pitching move at all. Alvarez has never thrown that many pitches. And it ain’t getting better next year. It’s a complete rebuild.

Time for Kelly to make his first move and first new coaching hire. I know he had an NCAA team last year that Kingston built, but I have zero confidence that Mohl is the guy long term. Trust your gut.

Going to have to wake up the bats now. We haven't done much since the 5th and must score 4 to extend the game.

We've had a nice run over the past few years, but yes many others leave something to be desired

This precisely.  Mohl has nobody in the bullpen warming up with the bases loaded and 1 out. Seems like vacation for him couldn’t come soon enough. I don’t care if we had a lot of injuries, being the only team in the conference to not make the tournament leaves me with a lot of disappointment.

It was inexcusable. Those Florida beaches are nice this time of year.

He's not being fired after only his second year, barring ****** a player with a bat ...

I agree, Kelly won’t make this move, but I still don’t think Mohl’s the long term guy.

I just don't see Kelly firing Muhl after 2 seasons with the 1st making the ncaa tourney. Now if he craps the bed next year and finishes last again, then I could see Kelly making a change.

You’re right, but there’s little chance next year is any better if you look at the roster. It’s almost a complete rebuild.

Bulls Drop Finale to Shockers

USF’s season ended with the defeat

TAMPA, FLA., May 18, 2019 – The USF baseball team saw its season come to a close with a heartbreaking 7-3 loss to Wichita State Saturday.

The Bulls (26-27, 8-16 The American) worked a bases-loaded walk in the first to take a 1-0 lead. USF scored twice in the fifth on a two-run double from Jordan Santos (Tampa), bringing in Kyle Phillips (Orlando) and Tyler Dietrich (Naples, Fla.) to make it 3-0.

In the next half inning, the Shockers (26-29, 9-15 The American) tied the score. After leaving two runners on in both the sixth and seventh, Wichita St. had a chance in the ninth, loading the bases with one out. The Shockers were able to plate four runs in the frame, and USF was unable to climb out of the hole.

Nota-Bulls

  • Senior righty Alec Wisely (Jacksonville, Fla.) pitched 6.0 innings, striking out a pair.
  • Senior Joe Genord (Lake Worth, Fla.) finished his USF career with 44 home runs, good for third in program history. He also finished eighth in career RBI and extra base hits.
  • Senior Garrett Zech (Naples, Fla.) finishes his career with 11 career triples which are seventh in program history.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
