My guess is one of these four. But that's only a guess. Leaning more towards the bottom 2.

Black got some action in the bowl game, so he's out.

Down to Bronson, Price, or Mayes.

Good catch. I want to say the Mays had a legitimate injury as well, although i'm not positive on that.

Here are the seniors who did not play in the bowl game.

McBride

Farrar

Vivonetto

Mayes

Price

Bronson, K

Probably can edit this list down even further based on even the slightest possibility of being drafted.

We all know none were draftable, but who had draft aspirations?

Kevin Bronson is the ONLY player on the list with a body of work to even have aspirations.

Yes. His aspiration I can understand.

The others would be well beyond delusional.

Whats the big deal?  If he didn't think he was 100%, why risk an injury playing a meaningless garbage bowl game?  I'm sure they all have aspirations of playing in the NFL, not realistic but I don't have a problem with a player sitting out because he doesn't want to jeopardize the rest of his life.

The player in question didn't say, "I don't want to play because of the long-term impact on my health."

We had a player who believed he was sure thing NFL material declining to play in a bowl game who ended up not even getting a sniff. In all likelihood, if you're the kind of player who can misjudge your value that bad, you probably believe the coaches screwed you, too. Based on the house-cleaning, this wasn't an isolated incident. This is the guy in your office who scoffs at certain tasks because his skill is being wasted on things beneath him.
