Game Two of War on I-4 Series Delayed Until Sunday

The conclusion of Game Two will resume at 11:30 a.m. Sunday; Game Three will be 45 minutes after

ORLANDO, FLA., April 6, 2019 – Severe lightning in the Orlando area has postponed the conclusion of Saturday’s War on I-4 contest, as the middle game of the three-game set will resume Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m.

 

The Bulls were batting in the top of the seventh and had a runner on first with one out, trailing, 5-0, when the game was initially stopped. The action will resume with freshman Alex Bello (Miami) at first. Joe Genord (Lake Worth, Fla.) was at the plate.  

 

The first two runners got on for the Knights in the bottom of the first, and the lead runner eventually scored to put the Bulls behind early. The lead extending in the second with two RBI base hits, making it 3-0. UCF scored in the third and fifth to claim a 5-0 edge.

 

Bello, junior Jordan Santos (Tampa), senior Kyle Phillips (Orlando) and freshman Nick Gonzalez (Tampa) all have hits so far for the Bulls. Logan Lyle (Bartow, Fla.) was pitching for USF, and had tossed 2.0 scoreless prior to the postponement.

 

The series finale is slated to start 45 minutes after the second game ends.
