It seems like every time BJM makes a mistake he is always cuddling up to Strong  like sorry boss please don’t fire me. Seems like he lacks confidence and Strong is micro managing.

When you see it in just about every game I would say it qualifies as a sufficient sample size. Go back and watch all the games just this season and you will see BJM talking to Strong after defensive mistakes. So either BJ grows from here or he needs to be demoted at the end

You took quite a leap from the two of them talking after defensive mistakes to BJM begging and CCS micro-managing.

Firstly, we need a cool name for the defense and defense paradigm like Bull Sharks.
Secondly, we need to teach tackling. That's one of the things we're crying about no improvement. Scheme, over-pursuit and those things you expect will get sorted out with experience but the basics of tackling should be lacking even in a true freshman 8 games into the season.

But most importantly a cool name to inspire the young men. And uniforms.

Well if you feel like you are under constant scrutiny for mistakes then you are being micro managed because trust is an issue. The number of snarls from Coach Strong leads me to believe this true. I don’t have any insider information. Just reading the tea leaves my friend.

I laughed when I first saw this but he is USF’s all-time leading tackler with 388 - now most of those were 8 yards down field and almost half of them are assisted tackles - but he is the all time leading tackler. But no, he is not our greatest LB ever.

I meant in terms of stats and on the mental part. He just didnt have the athleticism, but he played the "QB of the defense" well which is why he will one day be our defensive coordinator.

BJM doesn't need to be fired but I am VERY concerned that this young defense hasn't gotten better as the season progressed and we still have the same issues at week 9 as we did in week 1 (poor tackling, bad safety play, inconsistent pass rush, inability to get off the field on 3rd and long).  Typically with young teams you can watch them mature over the course of the season but this defense looks the same now as it did at the beginning of the year.   This is very concerning to me and something to keep an eye on.

Coach Bull Dozer hit the nail on the head again

Well his took our defense from 120th to 37th his first year here, so I have no concerns. Thats 83 spots!!! Im sure the players will physically and mentally grow and next year will be stout.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
