If he's projected to go in the top 3-4 rounds, he's gone.  Period.

I don't think it's that cut and dry, and his college career so far tells me he's not happy being a backup, but I respect your opinion.

He has over 900 yards passing and 7 TD's in 3 games.  Project that out for the year, 13 games, and you are looking at close to 4,000 yds passing and over 30 TD's.  BY FAR USF records in both.

How many USF qb's have been drafted in the top 3 rounds of the draft?

How many USF QB's have the physical tools of Barnett.  None.

The point is breaking USF passing records isn't really all that convincing.

Why? Financial hardship? His wife makes bank (I assume) as a professional surfer. Why jump ship after one season? He almost has to stay to show those other stints where he transferred were just bad situations, not that he is a head case. That part is not really being addressed if he piles up a **** load of stats and leaves.

Whatever happens-- out of our control anyway.

Ask Brad Kaaya how physical tools and a fairly solid three-year career as a starter at Miami worked out for him, draft-wise.

You think Blake Barnett could do better than that, coming from USF?

I think your question is better served towards @BullsFanInTX.  I'm one who thinks he should stay for a 2nd season no matter what.

Blake ain’t going in the top 4 rounds...at least not yet. This discussion will be more pertinent in late December.

He's not even on the draft radar at this point.  I don't know if he would even be drafted as of now.   Could change over the course of the season, but calling him a 3rd or 4th round pick at this point is very premature.  And why come on for that when you can improve your stock by staying another year.

It's really crazy talk at this point to be concerned about him leaving after 1 year

I didn't say he was now a 3-4 round pick.  I said IF he puts up the numbers he is expected to (4,000 yds, 30+ TD's), THEN he could likely be a top 4 round pick.  And that is my opinion.  I am not an NFL draft expert, but I know he has the raw physical tools NFL evaluators like.  He will be given a shot somewhere.  If he is projected to be drafted at least mid round, then it is my personal opinion that he will go.  If you disagree, that's fine, I could be wrong.
