More information may not be needed, but a video hyping up the athletics program while parents and siblings are there with some "Be Part of the Action!" encouragement should be part of every orientation.

I didn't know it was free for students and never attended a game as a student, for that I blame athletics.

This is a perfect example of what I was referring to in my original post on an athletics commercial at orientation. Commercials either clue someone into a product they didn't previously know existed, "What?!? You can go to the store and buy paper to clean your anus after pooping?!? I should go buy some of this!" or it convinces you to buy a particular brand of a product you were already going to purchase, "Aloe?!? On toilet paper?!? I'm in, Charmin!"

If you're already attending USF, you're either a person who wants to watch football or you're not. Anyone who might go to a football game already knows the product exists and 2 minutes at orientation isn't changing minds. No one is sitting there and the lightbulb goes off, "Football? My institution of higher learning competes in competitions of athletic skill? I am intrigued."

Take this guy...it is IMPOSSIBLE to believe he was open to the idea of going to sporting events and never went to a single game because he didn't know how to do it and athletics missed out by not appealing to him at orientation.

You are separated from them for most of it.

Why are parents there to begin with....even worse being there for two days.

Walking into the Beer Dome last season, two students walking by asked "what's going on in there?"

It's not only about football.

So since it's VERY likely any short commercial during orientation would be 90% football, you'd probably prefer athletics doing something separate in order to highlight all 17 of our sports that could benefit from greater student awareness?

Trying to figure out how to get RV parking so I can host small sororities/fraternities at the tailgate. I'm willing to take personal responsibility and try to do more each year, but athletics has to do their part and avoid missing opportunities.

Rant over!

Did you ever think to call your USF Ticket Rep, or are you wanting for the AD to reach out to you?

Are you not aware of the USF Athletics website GoUSFBulls.com?  http://usfbullstix.com/football/footballparking.aspx

I see why you get so many downvotes, you are so charming!

I sent an email and received a partial response "having issues locating your account..." I sent a reply back the same day and haven't heard back since. That was 5 days ago. Hard to get that warm fuzzy feeling that athletics is doing their best.
