Madut Akec - new signee for USF Basketball

TAMPA, JUNE 5, 2018 – University of South Florida head men's basketball coach Brian Gregory and his staff announced the addition of 6-foot-6 wing Madut Akec to the Bulls on Tuesday.

"We are extremely excited about welcoming Madut to the Bulls family," Gregory said. "Madut's versatility on the perimeter allows him to impact the game in so many positive ways. He can score in transition and in the half-court, and his energy level and length allow him to also find ways to score around the rim."

Originally from Juba, South Sudan, Akec is the sixth member of the Bulls' 2018 signing class and will be a freshman next season. Akec is rated as a three-star recruit by 247Sports and he's listed at No. 23 on the FloridaHoops.com top 100 class of 2018 rankings after leading Bradenton's Victory Rock Prep with 19.3 points and 9.9 rebounds per game this past season.

I am optimistic for this year. It's been over 5 years since we had not only decent players, but players that WANT to be here lol

Coffaro is obviously a walk-on. With the transfer guard not listed, I count 12 scholarship players.

Of the 11 eligible, only 3 have played together in a regular season game ... Year is going to be another total crap shoot, which is kind of exciting in a masochistic kind of way.
