I have been reading the commentary on here and the rest of the interwebs regarding the series with the Gators and I stand by my original position that this is a great series and a coup of sorts for us scheduling wise. I know the UCiF fans think that they should be getting 1 and 1 series with every football program, but that is just not the way of the world. There are a few upper-echelon programs that I am OK with us scheduling a 2 for 1 series, and UF (along with Texas) fall into that category. The 2 for 1 we signed with Louisville has been the only "disappointing" scheduling to date. While Louisville is a solid program, they aren't a Blue Blood and the fact that UCiF was able to secure a 1 for 1 with them really left me confused. I would love to hear from anyone with any insight on how we couldn't get a better deal than them given our former conference affiliation.

As for UCiF's scheduling philosophy, I like the idea in theory. The attitude that "we truly are P6 and therefore we feel that we deserve 1 for 1 series with the rest of the P6" resonates with me. However, I have a feeling they are going to find out the hard way that there is a definitive P5 when it comes to scheduling. Sure, you can get one-off series against the middle-to-bottom of the barrel of the P5, but nothing is really gained from those series. Also, it can create scheduling desperation. They have a total of 18 games to fill between now and 2025. That is a lot of wheeling and dealing to get the schedule filled with quality P5 opponents, especially when the Big 12 and Big Ten currently play only 3 OOC games per season.

As it stands for USF right now, we have just 5 OOC games to schedule between now and 2025. Most alarming is the need for a home game in 2020 and 2021. Curious to hear everyone else's thoughts regarding scheduling.

A 2 for 1 with a former coach not named Skip would be awesome.

A two for one with Oregon?

These next few recruiting classes better be talented and deep, because in 2022 we need to put on our big boy pants.

It seems though, but we might not have much of a choice in 2020 or 2021. Those two years are shaping up to be terrible home schedules.

Great question, if 2018 is on par with last year (or slightly worse) hopefully still Strong
