There a ton of great plays while I was in schools at USF (The joys of being a student from fall ‘05 through Winter ‘08).

The one that always comes to mind first is the Moffitt Pick 6 against WVU. That Grothe to Hester TD at Auburn was a thing of beauty as well. All of Amarrii Jackson’s plays against Louisville in ‘05.  The Lejiste  hit at FSU in ‘09. K-Webb’s TD vs ND.

Blunders:

All snaps taken by Matt Floyd and or Bobby Eveld.

Bobby has the Miami win so he is good with me.

I’ll be honest I thought long and hard before including Bobby because of that Miami W, but he was 8-15 with 120 yards in that game and the rest of his statuesque career places him firmly in the blunders column IMO. No fault of his own as he should never have been a BCS starting QB.

Giving Courtney Denson his first and only start in front of 100k at Peen St would qualify as a blunder

Maybe not among the best plays, but worth mentioning: Two QF plays in the 2016 Memphis game, both on the final scoring drive. One, where he got off a pass to Adams on 3rd & 8 while in the process of being tackled, and then then last TD run, where he first ran into Mack in the backfield. We were still in the race for a conference title game at that point, and those plays were huge. McCants dragging the UCF defender was another.

The blunders that stick out in my mind would be the occasions where Holtz let the clock run down....inside the 5 yards line with Time-outs to spare....and settled for FGs. Mat Floyd continuously fumbling snaps would be another...

I would consider this the best as well. Seemed that marked our arrival as a big-time program (at the time, anyway) more than any other single play. The Hester TD was probably second...

The first highlight tape I ever created was that demolishing of Louisville mentioned above.  The Amarri Jackson plays and Chad Simpson TD.  Such excitement and truly awesome play.

No,because then we probably wouldn’t have ended up with CJL and Leroy Selmon and our first 20+ years would have been wasted in obscurity.

No, you don’t really know that. If we had started in the 1960s there is a great chance we would be looking at things very different than today. USF’s first President was terrible toward athletics and set the tone for decades to come.
