USF Brand and Image Problem

Yes. No mention of renaming. That would be stupid in my opinion. They want fewer logos and a consistent branding. Thus the IT art elements are now a thing of the past.

I like the University of South Florida. If you name it Tampa Bay, or any of the other names mentioned, it sounds like an online school or a brand new low level school. We just need one or two logos and to have marketing getting our name out there. We do so much in academics, engineering and patents, and community contributions. We are a power university that is flying way under the radar. When I tell people about how good our university is and all of the statistics backing up our accomplishments, they're blown away. It's time that the country knows about everything we do and if we win with sports, everyone will know who we are. That's what our marketing team needs to focus on, making public all the good we do. Go bulls!!

Just a thought.  How much money do you spend on rebranding when the school is doing so well (scholastically) without spending that extra money. As someone above said, if our sports teams win we'll get to be known in the sports world.  But I don't see our logo changing the minds of people investing money in the research grants.  Making the logo the same throughout shouldn't be an expensive thing to deal with. Using the iconic U with SF in there somewhere is fine by me.

Yep this is the only logo I buy for my sports  apparel. I would not mind seeing this on our helmets for a game or two during the season too.

Just the U is fine for those familiar with USF.  But if they are trying to put a brand out there for others to see I'm not sure the U is enough. And this is what the marketing people will have to decide, What is enough?
