I'm I reading this wrong? Says jump NW to play Iowa?

Yes you are reading it wrong. He is referring to the Holiday Bowl.

AAAh okay. FSU really wants to get beat by USF to end their season? ****. Jimbo's gone after today-FSU is holding his feet to the fire with respect to TAM to give them an answer.

I don’t think FSU cares who they play it is more of an issue for staying in state. The odds are not good FSU gets the St. Pete game. More than likely they are Independence Bowl bound.

Hey they still have to beat La-Monroe.  Their fans are calling for Jimbo to not coach that game too. Total melt down up there.

Fisher has enjoyed strong job security in Tallahassee despite not contending for the title the last few years.
He’s been working under a contract that pays him about $5.5 million per year and runs through the 2024 season. That deal includes a huge buyout, reportedly about $40 million on Dec. 1, 2017.

What's the buyout today?

“From a geographical perspective, Navy would make the most sense,” said Steve Beck, executive director of the Military Bowl. “We’re all business people here. It makes the most sense for the Military Bowl to have Navy this year because of the way everything is lining up.”

No Kidding, anyone with a brain knew Navy was going there. St. Pete is very possible for us.

From the link;

What if Jimbo Fisher wants to leave? Is the number different?
That’s different.

If he elects to leave, Fisher’s buyout is the sum of all monies remaining on the contracts of his assistant coaches not retained by the university.

So, for example, if Fisher leaves, and the university retains none of ten coaches each making $500,000 on one-year deals, Fisher would owe the school $5M within 30 days. Given that many assistants are employed on two- or three-year contracts, this number is believed to be around $7M if Fisher were to leave following the 2017 season.

The practical impact of this is that it makes it safer for the school to give bigger raises to assistants, without the fear that it will be stuck paying them (or buying them out) if Fisher were to leave.

Well doesn't that suck.  Better make your pre-game reservations at Ferg's.
