That link was posted in the "Bowl Game - Military" thread yesterday.  Here is another article that counters Beck's statement:

* Florida State is pushing to get into the Gasparilla Bowl in St. Petersburg. The Seminoles technically would have to be bypassed by every ACC bowl to be available for a non-ACC bowl. But I’m told FSU is lobbying to play in St. Pete. If FSU is not successful getting to St. Pete, the Seminoles would probably end up in the Independence Bowl. If FSU gets to St. Pete, it’s unknown if they would play the American rep (USF) or C-USA rep (FAU). This one could get interesting.

Its not official, thats for sure.  Judging from Harlan's quote yesterday, sounds as if the goal is to play a P6 program, and it sounded like it would be outside of the state.  That really only leaves a few options (Military, Bham, Liberty, Independence)

USF/FSU at St Pete would be quite the turnout.

No Kidding, anyone with a brain knew Navy was going there. St. Pete is very possible for us.

Actually no...I am sure the hotels who pay for sponsorships hate the idea.

I am starting to lean towards the Independence Bowl now. Can’t see Birmingham wanting repeats and Military may decide to lose tourist $ and choose a terrible Navy team.

IMO - 100% the absolute worst place in the world to watch a football game.

The ONLY bowl that I would consider skipping.

Independence Bowl is doubtful. In one of the myriad of articles in here, I read that that they have an alternating agreement with us and CUSA if they need to fill a spot. It's CUSA's turn and they should have enough bowl eligible ...
