This.  The ESPN overlords are telling their minions, CFB Playoff Committee, right now that they want the USF-UCF game to have two ranked teams in there to generate more interest.

Are you sure?  I noticed ESPN was using CFP numbers...figured ABC would too.

I didn’t think USF was ranked in the CFP, but ESPN mentioned we were 23. I think they’re using AP/Coaches Poll #s.

Yeah ESPN uses whatever ranking is the highest to promote the game. If USF is in a poll somewhere they will have the # on the ticker.

The actual ranking number appearing next to the team name in writing on all things Disney (tv, streaming, websites) is the CFP ranking, though many announcers use the other rankings as well to hype what they need to hype.

That's not true...the ESPN ticker is using CFP numbers.  We had no rank this week in the ticker (despite being 23 in AP).  Clemson was 2, Miami 3, UCF 15, etc.  Those are all CFP numbers.  If they would have used the highest number from any poll, Clemson would be 2 (CFP), and Miami would also be 2 (AP).  They use CFP in the ticker, and I'm really pretty certain ABC does as well.
