Most coaches leave a program for a step up. USF would be a lateral move at best, and could be argued a small step back. I don’t see him having any interest here.

Defense is part of the equation. That was a bad showing for their defense. They do seem to have an exciting offense but looking at the highlights they had a couple of extremely lucky bounces on passing touchdowns and a kick return for a touchdown. More reasonable was UCF was looking ahead to SMU. They scored only 14 and 10 against Cincinnati and Miami (Ohio).

Exactly...UCF's defense is not great.  We'll get our chance to score on them.

(Whether or not we take advantage of that chance is another matter, I grant you...)

They’ve won 4 conference titles. They have an OCS. They have a Fiesta Bowl win.  They’ve probably put more guys in the NFL and the program has been around longer.
