I would put it this way.... as long as we are controlling the game, it stays vanilla.... it's pretty obvious the greater our lead the more vanilla the plays become.

I do think the play calling and vanilla-ness has varied depending on the flow of the game.

The play calling has been a "force us to do something differently" type of game management. Not, oh let's see how flashy we can get and run through the entire play book.

We have seen a play here or there that was a new look or at least some that are not like the other 95% of what you see.

This is exactly right. This offense is not always pleasing to the eye, but I'm waiting to see what the full body of work looks like.

Regardless of how we do it, passing or running, we need to destroy Houston.  50+ points offense, win by 30 min.

I have a feeling Sterlin will open up the playbook this weekend.  Houston will be a tough test for us and we'll need to show off some new wrinkles to get the W.  I just hope our D gets back to keeping teams out of the endzone.

Go Bulls!

this guy hasnt been used enough or properly

Sighhhh,

We are a power run team and will remain so as long as CCS is here.  I think people get confused between "opening up the offense" and simply doing something different when we are down.  News flash, all teams abandon the run when they are down three scores in the fourth.  As others have said, what we are doing is working, expect nothing different until we have to.  But that is not trickery or a secret playbook, it is what every team does.

A bad example would be Navy.  When they are down a few scores in the fourth they "open up the offense" because they have to.

I’ve been way too critical about this offense this season. We’re 7-0 and have a really good team to watch week by week. I’m hoping we do blow a team out, but what we’re doing is working.

Not a bad example. Perfect example of what they did against us last year late in the game.

I've seen that plenty of times on the web. Like I said, nothing new to see. That barely counts as porn in places I've been.

You are on it today JTrue

Does anyone really think we have kept the playbook “vanilla” on purpose thru 7 games?

I do.  No point in opening a playbook when you can win with 'vanilla'.

We are heading to game 8. We have seen all of the plays that will be called.
