It is conservative on purpose. The purpose is that is what the coaches want. It isn't subterfuge, the team isn't going to put on Legion of Superheroes rings against UCF and start flying after having played like this for 7 games.

They should be.  They are playing better. Are we capable of beating them, of course.

As you recall, on the sideline at the bowl, I think Coach Strong said something about slowing the plays down so the defense can rest. Maybe it was there or at another time, but he did say it.

Now, I think there's a plan to this "clunky madness" that we call our offensive play selections. Is everything because of this plan? No. But I think they are conservative on purpose.

Yeah, they do...UCF looked very beatable today.  Navy is mediocre at best and only beat Tulane by 2 pts.   I was expecting them to beat Navy by 30+
