Oh it did, just didn’t appear to benefit him much. That’s the problem with trying to build yourself up by tearing others down, you establish why they are bad but that doesn’t necessarily translate to you being good.

It must be because I’m driving that I can’t figure this out. Is your argument that because Brett hasn’t been hired by any “prestigious” news organizations since he broke the Urban Meyer story, he’s failing at his reporter job.

My argument was that since he was unemployed and the “breaking news” only managed to get him a job at place no one has ever heard of before that he is failing at his attempts to be a reporter.

If Brett is the your benchmark for a failing sports reporter in 2018, you and I aren’t even having the same conversation right now.

Or, and this is just me spit-balling, he could just keep collecting his paycheck from ESPN and put stuff on the interwebs. He gets paid AND he keeps his name in the news so when his ESPN contract us up, he slides right over to his next gig. Win--win.

That must have been one huge slide. He hasn't been collecting paychecks from ESPN since April, 2017 and he just slid into his new gig, at something called Stadium, a month ago ...

Since he is apparently your bench mark for success, I would say we aren’t. Having moved from ESPN to wherever he is now he is not, not failing.

He didn’t move. They’re paying him his salary to write whatever he wants and release it however he wants.

ESPN was caught flat footed by cord cutting.  Here's a pretty decent breakdown.  A ton of big time personalities were let go in the layoffs.
