And then the greed of ESPN, the main conferences and their collaboration/collusion to prevent inroads for schools like USF occurred.

Drain the Swamp!

By far best USF game.  I was in third level and the most of the third level was standing on defense every time WVU had the ball.

Flew down for this game and had one of the best experiences of my life!  Students camped out to get good seats! Pretty ironic that 10 years later we are once again ranked #18, but struggle to get 15K in the building!

This is truly a bittersweet memory for me. It was, by far, the single greatest USF home game I’ve attended. But on the other hand, I know we’ll likely never see a crowd and fan support like that again (barring inclusion in the P5 which is a long shot).

Not only was the game good but the atmosphere was incredible.

At first this brought up great memories, but now just makes me sad.  Bottom line...Big East to the AAC was the beginning of the end to the growth of our program.

Key part of this, "USF beat Auburn." We don't/won't have one of those. The playing field has changed tremendously in ten years.

Huh? That was a 1 and done pay day game. That was scheduled from a time before the Big East when we used to do those. We don't do them now because of pride and home game count.

I have no doubt if we had a big ooc game vs like say Oklahoma or Ohio State we would have a sell out.

I missed out on USF vs WVU, but I was at the Auburn game, and your statement is absolutely right.

Great game in Auburn. I remember Delbert attempting what seemed like an 18 yard FG, and just about hitting one of the pylons in the endzone. Thankfully he made the one near the end of regulation though.

Best, most exciting, thrilling few hours ever spent at any sporting event and it was watching my beloved Bulls.

And I'm still hopeful it can be repeated or even approached by some matchup in the future.
