I joined my sister's season tickets when I graduated starting in the 2009 season. In 2008 they tracked students and knew I went to all but one football game. I never got anything about season tickets from USF after graduation.

Maybe the casual fan doesn't think our product and the teams we play against are worth the money we are charging? Marketing and ticket sales do a poor job of reaching out to recent alumni and season ticket holders

If you offer $10 tickets on game day, less people will buy season tickets. Also, using your numbers, for every dollar you reduce the ticket price, you'd have to sell 20, 000 more tickets to make up the revenue. If we received parking and/or concessions, the numbers would change, but not significantly. You can preach economics when your supply and demand isn't displayed on national television. Especially when this display determines how the country views your product. The prices shouldve been lowered this season.

The end zone opposite of student section should be the alumni zone with tickets priced for kids who are likely taking entry level jobs. I'd rather break even in the beginning with hopes in a few years they'll be able to pay the normal season ticket prices. I think you're on the right track. The factor is by lowering season tix prices you up your retention rate for the next 2-4 years. And lord knows we need it. If we are drawing 17k for a Thursday game this year, what do you think we draw next season? Sure you may need to sell 20k more tix to breakeven this year, but isn't our mission for the long term? Come out and see what you're missing? Converting half-ass gator/noles/canes fans to usf fans is invaluable Ps. I'm sure someone will want to tell me it's better to make a few K more per game with less people than lowering the price point. I work in social media marketing. Tell me what trends across the country on Twitter next ESPN game. A) usf has no fans b) usf only sold out because tickets are $10 Econmonics works both short term and long term. Can you provide the spreadsheet that says it isn't profitable? P5 teams pay the bills just fine. We won't get back there with 20k in the stands. Our demographic is stingy. It's unfortunate, but it's the hand we are dealt. Play to your market.
