The audible comes from the sidelines.  We have not done an audible here in 15 years at least.

I'm aware, thanks.  Difficult for the sideline to call any audibles when we are trying to snap the ball in 6-8 seconds.  xCWT would routinely change the play pre-snap based on what look the defense was giving. I don't see that happening much with this new offense.

Dropped touchdowns, and passes, happen every game to every team. Can you please stop continually using this as a rebuttal to the offense not performing as expected for some?

You are exactly right. Anybody who had a problem with the offense performing in the last game doesn't need a rebuttal, they just need to be laughed at ........ vigorously.

What are you talking about? We do pretty much the exact same thing EVERY play. Setup in a formation, see what look the defense gives us, then look over to the sideline for a playcall.

It definitely helps but the guys are tackling, especially in the open field.  They are stopping the runs up the middle on first down.

Really, the big complaint I have about the team is special teams.  I just don't think there is a good reason to be letting up all these blocked kicks.  Is it the long snapper?

Totally agree our special teams are not special at all. I watched the game again last night. For the FG, it was a total breakdown.  A player on the left side of the line missed his block. Then, the holder did not get the ball down quick enough, which made it look like the kicker was slow in addressing the ball. All of this caused the block. For the extra point,  Illinois put two guys on one of our alignment and overran him (he got no help). Yeah, this needs to be addressed ASAP.

I agree. The offense last game was great. We had a lot of miscues, but still scored 47. And, that's kind of the point. Gilbert is off the hot seat, for now.

NO its till vanilla, which is fine. The difference is, they changed the plays to resembles more set ups from last season. They seemed to figured out a offense designed around speed in Florida is pretty **** easy to run. Now once they unleash the offense look out, this is the play caller before he came to Texas.

If it was still vanilla, I definitely tasted some Reese's or Oreos mixed in there.  It definitely was opened up a bit.  It's ok to disagree - I know there were some drops but you say this offense has yet to be "unleashed," I'm just not sure we'll see a lot more points over and above 47, which is ok ... with the improvements we've made on D, I think 47 will be enough for us to win most, if not all of the rest of the schedule.

People keep saying that we're running the GCO and we are not.  This is the full version of the Briles Veer and Shoot. Taggart did not run one jet sweep or spread set until he went to Baylor.  If you look at the offense we're running, it's the exact same offense they ran at Texas last season.  It's not Taggarts.  They included some QB runs from Taggarts offense that Flowers likes to do... but the rest of the offense is the Briles Baylor offense.  We ran plays last game that Taggart didn't have in his play book.  I just think people read too much in them staying vanilla the first two games.  Oh... Re-watching the game... we ran at least 4 plays we haven't seen at all this season.  I can distinctly identify four... Also, if you look at the blocking along the Oline, they were doing something they didn't do the first two games... they were running a ton of traps.  They were also pulling the guards on the quick tosses... they didn't show that at all the first two games.  The were sliding using the TE to seal with no one pulling.  There appears to be two different variations of the jet sweep... looks the same with the motion, but on one play they seal with the onside guard on a quick pull... that was the one McCants almost broke.   The passing game was a bit more open, they worked the slot and outside.  This offense puts a ton of pressure on the safeties...

I also don't think Taggart has ever called a game this consistent.  I now see what Strong meant when he said "he wanted them to be able to slow down when needed"....  We can play power football as well as run up and down the field.  The time of possession this season is a lot better than last seasons.

Hey, if you think about it, there are some trick plays they showed in the spring game that they haven't run.  Two actually...

Also... rematching the game... on Offense... the Line played a hell of a game.  I recall after the game someone complaining about their play.  They actually played really good.
