Why are Sophomores "committing"? And why is it being reported?   We just lost a 2022 "commit" recently to South Carolina.   These kids could change their minds 50 times in the next month

Haven’t seen anything official on this yet, but based on his Instagram it appears Isaac Nunez, formally of Lake Brantley HS and UF, has decided to transfer to USF.

Here are the ones PG ranked in our 2020 class. 9 is a "potential top 10 round pick and/or highest level college prospect." 10 is a "potential very high draft pick and/or elite level college prospect." Guess how many actually got drafted after PG declaring them to be round 10 picks or better, with 2 of them being the equivalent of 5 star football prospects.

Drew Brutcher - 10

Albert Hernandez - 10

Matthew Ruiz - 9.5

Richey Lakes - 9

Nelson Rivera - 9

From everything I’ve read, he’s legit. But PG has him at a 10. There aren’t enough picks in the draft for the number of 10s they give out, let alone “very high draft picks.” Perfect Game is still handing out 9.0s - 9.5s to the 500th ranked HS player. 

In 2019 (I skipped last year since it was odd), 1100 players are tied for 500th. That means PG has 1600 kids ranked in the top 500.

The last kid drafted in 2019 from PG’s rankings was 451 and went in the 13th round. So literally hundreds of kids were labeled elite college prospect or on the cusp of very high draft pick and didn’t end up with a sniff of either.

yeah, they throw a wide net so they can say they labeled the ones that go correctly while ignore the rest. Politics plays a part as well. It's about as reliable as the star ratings. But for him, the eye test looked really good as a Soph.
